Until Dawn is a game of the survival horror genre with an extensive plot, where any choice of the player can affect the further course of events. During the game, the player has to make difficult decisions related to ethical and moral dilemmas. The player’s actions may lead to scenes of realistic violence and gore, including fatal falls from heights, dismemberment with blood and guts, beheadings, and other violent death scenes, including firearms. The game contains profanity, sexually suggestive dialogue, and scenes of alcohol and tobacco use.
